Born in Verona, Francesco Lodola graduated in his city in Science of Communication, achieving lately in the same university the Master Degree in Editing and Journalism studies. He started studying piano since he was seven years old, attending the Liceo Musicale where he had the opportunity to deepen the theoretical and practical aspects of music practice. Through the years he has built an extensive behind the scenes experience in the classical music and opera world, attending performances in the biggest theatres and concerts houses in Italy and abroad. In 2011 he founded the online platform Ieri, Oggi, Domani, Opera, building a team of more than ten Under 30 musicians and singers involved in reviewing concerts and performances in Italy and around the world. He personally interviewed more than 250 artists, among whom we can name legendary opera stars of the past and today, such as Leo Nucci, Roberto Alagna, Violeta Urmana, Jakub Józef Orliński, Angela Gheorghiu, Sumi Jo, Dolora Zajick, Thomas Hampson, Virginia Zeani, Luca Pisaroni and many others. He has participated as guest in numerous opera singing masterclasses held by leading artists such as Bruna Baglioni, Fiorenza Cedolins, June Anderson and Elena Moșuc. He is also the author of Casa Ricordi. Una storia italiana, a book published by Gruppo Albatros Il Filo, with a preface by Maestro Francesco Ivan Ciampa. Between 2022/2023 he presented his book on mportant Italian venues such as the Museo Casa Barezzi (Busseto, Parma), Teatro Municipale di Piacenza and the Turin International Book Fair. His work dedicated to the Ricordi and its history has been described by the press as “a cult essay for musicians and outsiders”, being praised for its perfect match of scientific and technical analysis and anecdotes and direct testimonies. In recent years, he has dedicated himself to the activity of PR and Social Media Management, collaborating with artists, Music institutions and Festivals. At the end of 2022 he founded his own company, Ben Artists, which goals are manage the career of established artists and lead young rising artists in their first steps on stage. From 2024 he has been appointed as Artistic Consultant of the Festival Riflessi del Garda, founded by the Niccolò Piccinni Fund.
