Chinese rising Tenor Anle Gou is one of the most promising artist in the Baroque and Belcanto roles, covering a repertoire that goes from Monteverdi, Caccini, to Mozart, Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti and even operas by Britten and Stravinsky. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing with a bachelor degree and a master’s degree in 2019. In this period, he was awarded a Chinese National Scholarship and he sang concerts at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), the Beijing Concert Hall, and the Jinji Lake Concert Hall in Suzhou. In 2021, he has been invited by conductor Niels Muus to begin a second Master’s Degree in Opera at the Vienna City University of Music and Arts. During his experience in Vienna (city where he is actually based), he has performed important roles such as Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Belfiore in La finta giardiniera, Lysander in A Midsummer’s dream and many others, singing also on the main stage of the Wiener Staatsoper. As an awarded artists he won several competitions, emerging as Best Tenor and 4th Prize at the 26th Ferruccio Tagliavini International vocal competition, Special prize at the Kamen Chanev International Competition for young tenors. He has also taken part in several masterclasses, attending the renowned masterclasses of the Georg Solti Academy with recognized artists and voice teachers such as soprano Barbara Frittoli and bass Giacomo Prestia among the others. He attended also the iSING International Festival of Young Artists, one of the most important Chinese-USA “Opera experience” for young artists, having the possibility to collaborate with the conductor Kamal Khan and distinguished American tenor Michael Sylvester. In 2022 he made his official debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in the Solistenquartett of Mozart’s Die Entführung Aus Dem Serail, conducted by M° Antonello Manacorda. He also headlined a concert with the Sliven Symphony Orchestra for its 90th Anniversary at the Sofia Bulgaria Hall, conducted by M° Vladimir Kiradzhiev. He performed Lysander in A Midsummer night’s dream at the Theater Akzent and Mostro/Tenor in Francesca Caccini’s La Liberazione di Ruggiero dall’Isola di Alcina at the Theater an der Wien. At the beginning of the season 2023/2024 he made his return in China as Ernesto in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale with the China National Arts Fund in Beijing. In October 2023 he won the Peter Dvorsky Prize by Tenor Peter Dvorsky, the Thüringen Philharmonie Prize at the Gabriela Benackova International Singing Competition. He recently headlined the Caruso Gala Concert with the Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach, conducted by M° Aurélien Bello. In March 2024 he made his debut as Gernando/Ubaldo in Rossini’s Armida at the Teatru Manoel of La Valletta, Malta, directed by Paul Carr and conducted by M° Davide Levi. In September 2024 he made his role debut as Conte Almaviva in Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Opera Nationala Romana of Cluj-Napoca, where he returned to perform the same role in December 2024. In Fall 2024 he performed at the Farewell Gala Concert of legendary soprano Gabriela Beňačková at the Štátna Opera of Banská Bystrica.
